Steve Laube has been in book publishing for over forty years as a bookseller, editor, publisher, and literary agent. He serves as a Bible teacher and is married with three daughters and two grandsons. He is a Hall-of-Fame honoree of Grand Canyon University’s College of Theology.

Amanda Jenkins is the lead creator for The Chosen’s extra content.

Dallas Jenkins is the creator of The Chosen. Amanda and Dallas live with their four children in Texas, where The Chosen is filmed.

This book can cause interest in and make it easier to study the Gospels in the Bible. The story of Jesus is the most important story in history. Great book, but could use improvements. Remember, this isn't a Bible, and thus may be paraphrased... Not the goto volume for a serious "Bible Study." For that you'll want the book of books suggested by the study leader. Now if the study is based on "The Chosen" series it should be great.
Let's start with the pros.
1. Has a nice synthetic leather cover.
2. Sewn binding. For the price, this is awesome.
3. Nice 11 or 12pt font. older eyes shouldn't have much trouble reading it.
4. Has a "Scripture index in back.
5. Is a nice size for a purse or backpack.
6. Has nice wide margins for margin notes.
and now the cons:
1. Not a "Book of the Gospels," or a New Testament.
2. The "Scripture Index" has no page numbers, and those would be nice.
3. The "Day titles" could indicate the "Book, Chapter" that the Devotional is based on.
4. Have a total of 3 ribbons, so that reader could keep one in the main part of book, and one in the "Scripture Index along with a spare."
5. Be printed on non-shiny/glossy paper, so that you can underline with a pencil, and be able to erase without leaving an ugly smudge on the page.

I was skeptical when I read the write-up, but I just felt that I'd like to see it and make up my mind with the real information I need to make a proper decision. I absolutely love it, it's so easy and readable, although I love my KJV Bible and have read the gospels several times, and the things in there are very familiar to me, this blending of the Gospels just makes it come alive, we suddenly you can see what fits where. It reminds me of the end of a jigsaw puzzle, when you see all the pieces in the box you can get the gist of the picture but it's not until they are all fitted together, that the whole picture stands out and you can see its beauty. A big thank you to those who worked on this, I'd happily recommend this to anyone.
