The first four councils were the most important. Bright's ability to emphasize the major ecumenical establishments resulting from each council while adding most interesting nuances makes the composition better than mere notes. The author enlightened me on the intensity of the Christian movement in those early centuries regarding 'Arianism' and the Nicens.' This book is best read with the Greek text close by.

I ordered this book for my son who lives far away. He was surprised to find that it is written in Greek, and only has notes in English. I looked at the listing and do not see anywhere that indicates this rather important fact. If he was able to send it back to me, I would send it back to you. What in the world are you thinking, listing a book that is unreadable to most of us? I rated it one star because this review system wouldn't let me rate it no stars.
