About the author
David Ma was born in China and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He is interested in bringing to life stories from Chinese folklore to an English speaking audience. He and his wife Stacy are co-authors of the Emperor's Seed, a Chinese Folktale about a little girl who faces a daunting challenge.

The translations are really nice for anyone learning Chinese. Embarrassingly enough, I’m a full grown adult using this to learn Chinese...but I think it would be a great way for kids being raised in a multicultural household to learn to read in both languages. Looking back at my childhood raised in a Chinese-American household but not being able to speak/read Chinese, I wish my parents read a book like this to me because I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot of my culture.
