Jew and been able to ask all the stupid goy questions that come with it, so I figured my own research would be a good alternative.
The book itself is hardback, with a rather flimsy paper dust jacket. A thick volume, it has some heft to it. The translation is apparently something of a standard since the early 1960s, and is very coherent. I really like this one - I utterly despise the multitude of differant English translations of the Christian Bible, particularly the King James version (which deviates considerably from the original Hebrew with all the inane thees and thous) but this volume has been highly touted as an honest translation that maintains the flow of the original language. It is written in English only, so if you are looking for a side-by-side in Hebrew, this isn't it.
Highly recommended, even if you just have a passing interest.
