The book has some nice photographs and some good information about ancient Persian beliefs. But the book is really about Zoroastrianism, both past and present. A significant amount of the book is about how the Parsis live today.

As an overview of Persian culture from pre-Achaemenid to the twenty first century it does a good job. But don't expect a deep dive into specific mythologies.
