Ken Warner grew up reading science fiction and fantasy; his early favorites were The Chronicles of Narnia, Dune, and of course, Lord of the Rings. When he began his martial arts training in high school, he heard many myths and legends about masters who possessed mysterious powers, typically attributed to their internal chi energy. He often thought these legends would make a great story. This ultimately led to his first books, The Katana Series.

Ken continues to focus on science fiction and fantasy in his writing. He went full time with his author career late in 2020. Ken lives in Connecticut with his wife, Parveen, and their many dogs and cats.

Writing this after reading book ten because, if you don't pick up book one you'll never know how good this series is. Lots of action, a little romance, tons of gadgets, abilities and possibilities. This is light sci to - almost a cross with magical fantasy. It kept me interested and eager to keep reading all the way through book ten. I highly recommend it.

This was not exactly what I had expected.. I thought the story would focus on adult characters running around solving some ancient mystery - but instead it is about teens with powers. Still this was an enjoyable read (even if it is an overused idea). Lots of action, fights, daring escape, close calls, aliens etc. The story is also a decent length too.

Wonderful plot in a fast paced tale with a super convoluted plot. Will make your head spin as you try to come to grips with humankinds ancient history and new future.

This is "made for network tv" science fiction. Aliens, Atlantis, super-human teenagers, evil government, and a man in black. I guess what I'm saying is that this book is exactly what it appears to be, and it does a fine job of delivering on the promise.

Honestly, it took a bit to settle into the characters and the twined plot lines.... but one it got going it was full steam ahead!
Having taught high school science for 17 years, I'd say that Mr. Warner got the teenage angst just right.
Good SciFi, good storytelling, realistic characters.... what more could you ask for?
Now on to book 2!

Jaden and Malia Kwan are not having a good time in freshman year in High School. They're pretty normal as far as things go, Malia is a gorgeous cross between African American and Korean parent's but Jaden's best friend won't leave her alone.

But the biggest hassle is that Jaden is on the freshman football team and it's freshman hazing week. All he's trying to do is get through the day without getting stuffed into a locker.

Something strange happens when Jaden is finally caught by the Varsity Football bully. As he's being pushed head first into a trash can, the bully inexplicably is knocked in the head and Jaden is pulled out of the trash can.

The situation quickly escalates until Jaden finds himself on the roof of the High School being held over the edge head first. Suddenly, he's falling and then he comes to a stop right before he hits the pavement.

Within a week, Malia and Jaden learn that their parents are not who they thought they were, the CIA and the FBI are after them and the reason is older than the Egyptian civilization.

The Secret of Giza is a riveting space opera, full of unexpected twists, mythical beings made real and a rollicking good story. I'd recommend this series to any age group looking for an addictingly good read.

A very promising beginning to the series. The book was full of action. The characters were well defined. All in all a good read.

I love getting my teeth into a good conspiracy theory plot and this one ticks a lot of boxes! Let’s see how many populist urban legends the rest of the series manages to address!

I liked the concepts in this book, and enjoyed the story. I particularly liked how the author wove the thread of ancient beings from the past.

I've read (and also myself written) a lot of Sci-Fi, alien conspiration stories. This one is best of all. It started amazingly and just when the story seemed to lose steam . BAM! the author slammed on the accelerator and the ride didn't end even once this story ended. It was so good that I have already downloaded Part 2 - Abduction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty jolly good

I had my doubts about this book for a while, in some ways it was written as if by an author of no more than maybe 20 years old and I began to feel it was more for children, but as the pages turned it started to build into something that drew me in and I found it difficult to put down
I was most impressed with the descriptions of things that made other things work, it all sounded very plausible. Mind you, I am not into physics or anything else to do with space travel but, between the characters, which were very likeable and the ever expanding explanations as tension developed I found I was enjoying the reading immensely and decided the Ken Warner might be much more adult than 20 and indeed not a bad writer after all.
I will definitely try book 2 and see if he can hold the suspense :)

Although the overall story was pretty good, I found a lot of the dialog to be a bit juvenile. Yeah, the main characters are teenagers, but I don't think I can read another 9 books like that.
