About the author
Ken Warner grew up reading science fiction and fantasy; his early favorites were The Chronicles of Narnia, Dune, and of course, Lord of the Rings. When he began his martial arts training in high school, he heard many myths and legends about masters who possessed mysterious powers, typically attributed to their internal chi energy. He often thought these legends would make a great story. This ultimately led to his first books, The Katana Series.
Ken continues to focus on science fiction and fantasy in his writing. He went full time with his author career late in 2020. Ken lives in Connecticut with his wife, Parveen, and their many dogs and cats.

Having taught high school science for 17 years, I'd say that Mr. Warner got the teenage angst just right.
Good SciFi, good storytelling, realistic characters.... what more could you ask for?
Now on to book 2!
er books in this series. So for now , one an done.
But the biggest hassle is that Jaden is on the freshman football team and it's freshman hazing week. All he's trying to do is get through the day without getting stuffed into a locker.
Something strange happens when Jaden is finally caught by the Varsity Football bully. As he's being pushed head first into a trash can, the bully inexplicably is knocked in the head and Jaden is pulled out of the trash can.
The situation quickly escalates until Jaden finds himself on the roof of the High School being held over the edge head first. Suddenly, he's falling and then he comes to a stop right before he hits the pavement.
Within a week, Malia and Jaden learn that their parents are not who they thought they were, the CIA and the FBI are after them and the reason is older than the Egyptian civilization.
The Secret of Giza is a riveting space opera, full of unexpected twists, mythical beings made real and a rollicking good story. I'd recommend this series to any age group looking for an addictingly good read.

I was most impressed with the descriptions of things that made other things work, it all sounded very plausible. Mind you, I am not into physics or anything else to do with space travel but, between the characters, which were very likeable and the ever expanding explanations as tension developed I found I was enjoying the reading immensely and decided the Ken Warner might be much more adult than 20 and indeed not a bad writer after all.
I will definitely try book 2 and see if he can hold the suspense :)
